Suffolk Scenes

 I am 51 years old, born in Ashton - under - Lyne and now live in Colchester. My great grandfather was from Soham and he served in the Suffolk Regiment before and during the Great War. He was killed in action and is buried in France. I went to Wickhambrook Primary school and Clare Secondary school for a short time while my father served in the RAF at Stradishall. My interest in photography started when I was also in the military, taking a small camera everywhere that I could, if the situation allowed it. I have loved it ever since... Capture the mood... Capture the moment.

    I find my style of Photography is driven by looking beyond the every day hustle and bustle of life and seeing the beauty of what is around us, so much goes unnoticed. The camera captures it all in an instant and records the moment. If you have got the eye then the results can be quite stunning.

    My work is beginning to become known and not just in the area. The third Felixstowe Calendar is now out. A limited addition produced in partnership with the Spotlight Magazine. 

    An image of the viewpoint at Felixstowe with a winter theme was taken to Berlin as a gift by members of a local charity. Christmas cards of Felixstowe were very popular. My work is ofter sent abroad to friends and relatives.  In the Suffolk Magazine two pages were dedicated to my photographs. There is so much to look forward to, I have lots of things I want to photograph so keep an eye on my site. I am not only taking shots of Suffolk, I now have some images in other areas including Rome, Cornwall and Essex.

    I have only scratched the surface of places which are a delight to photograph and will continue to capture the mood and the moment for as long as I can. Everyday things can be seen in a different light. Controlled by the weather and actual events from one day to the next, there is always something new to capture and record before it is lost forever.

 

 Our environment is constantly changing. Photographs can bring much pleasure to those who have fond memories and look great when framed, displayed at home or in the office.
